My son has this in his yard. They are beautiful! What is it called?

The light purple flowers trying to put a name to them
I have been searching the internet for these and I can't seem to find the name there are some growing along the outer tree lines of two wooded areas one is across the street from the other but they seem to surround the tree line and not many of them get flowers at once there would only be a few of them bloomed out while the others remain without flowers then later they would bloom. The flowers attract the larger butterflies such as the Tiger Swallow butterfly and a few others. I would really like to know the name of this flowering plant. There are some growing in the back yard as well.
